Beat the Streets New York City Wrestling is a non-profit sports based youth development organization that provides youth opportunity to grow both on and off the mat. We provide free programming to over 3,000 NYC student-athletes each year across all five boroughs.
In 2012, Beat the Streets hosted the first Gotham City All Girls freestyle tournament with the hopes of providing young girl wrestlers an opportunity to showcase their talent center-stage and to create a sense of community of support. In a small gym in Brooklyn with about 100 girls that dream took flight.
Over the years, Gotham has evolved in size and stature. Gotham is now (arguably) the largest all girls wrestling tournament outside of any USA Wrestling National event. Participants travel from not just across the US, but from around the world each year to compete. In 2017, Cliff Keen Athletic became our title sponsor and continues to provide support and prestige by donating finalist singlets.
