Andrew Bonita has over 20 years of experience in investments and capital markets and is currently a Managing Director of Antarctica Capital. He leads Antarctica Capital’s insurance vertical and sits on the board of Antarctica’s Bermuda reinsurance vehicle and several portfolio companies in the infrastructure sector. Mr. Bonita led Antarctica’s establishment of an insurance services joint venture with Lockton Companies, called Lockton Capital Markets LLC, that focuses upon the convergence of capital markets and traditional insurance financing solutions. His responsibilities also include investment origination, credit analysis and evaluation, and transaction execution.
Mr. Bonita began his career at Lazard Freres & Co. LLC, where he was a member of the 4-person Fixed Income Asset Management Structured Products team which had discretion over approximately $3 billion of investable assets. Prior responsibilities centered on risk management for all fixed income institutional accounts (over $11 billion under management). In addition, Mr. Bonita directly oversaw a ten-person group responsible for all liquidity management, rates hedging, and trade settlements for the Asset Management Division. Post Mr. Bonita’s work at Lazard, he founded an alternative investment firm focused on market-neutral investments in the fixed income arena. Mr. Bonita received a B.S.B.A. in Finance from the Boston University School of Management and is a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Mr. Bonita lives in New York City with his wife, Nicole, and three children, Andrew, Lito, and Lola. He is a lifelong fan and advocate for the sport of wrestling and has enjoyed watching his boys develop through their involvement in the BTS community.
