THE JUNIOR LEAGUE

The Junior League is the only elementary and middle school wrestling league in New York City, providing after-school programming in the form of weekly practice and competition opportunities focused on teaching the basics of wrestling in a safe and fun environment.

If you're interested in getting involved in the Junior League, email Youth Programming Manager Narankhuu Ganbaatar at nganbaatar@btsny.org.

PROGRAM STRUCTURE

The Junior League comprises a mix of school-based and community-based youth wrestling teams that practice two to five times a week.
Practice schedules vary, as each program operates independently.

Each season, Junior League student-athletes participate in three
Family Afternoon Match (FAM) Days, two mini-tournaments, and
one City Championship. In addition to wrestling, Beat the Streets
also implements the Wrestler’s Mark Enrichment curriculum, in which common phrases or techniques used on the mat are translated to
real-life learning scenarios off the mat.
