All 20 matchups across men's and women's freestyle are set for 2026 Final X at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

12 Senior World Team Trials Challenge Tournament champions have been added to the lineup for 2026 Final X, presented by Kerberos Capital Management, including 2024 Olympic champion Amit Elor and 2024 Olympic silver medalist Spencer Lee. Final X is set for Friday, June 19 at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, and will decide the 2026 U.S. World Team.
In addition to her Olympic gold, Elor is a two-time Senior World champion and six-time age-group World champion in women’s freestyle. She became the youngest Olympic wrestling champion in U.S. history at age 20 in Paris, France. Elor returns to Final X at 72 kg, the weight where she secured her two Senior World titles, after taking a year off from competition for the birth of her first child in January.
Lee is a proven performer on the international stage. In addition to his Olympic achievements, the 27-year-old Lee owns three age-group World titles and was a member of last year’s Senior World Team, placing ninth at the World Championships in Zagreb, Croatia. So far this year, Lee has won international gold medals at the first two UWW Ranking Series Events and was the U.S. Open runner-up.
Defending Final X champions and Senior World Team members who qualified were two-time World medalist Macey Kilty (WFS, 62 kg), U23 World champion Jax Forrest (MFS, 61 kg) and U20 World champion David Carr (MFS, 74 kg). All three finished in fifth place at last year’s World Championships.
2023 World champion Zain Retherford returned to the competition mats for the first time since the 2024 Olympic Games to earn the second Final X spot in men’s freestyle at 70 kg. His Olympic teammate and 2023 World bronze medalist, Mason Parris, made Final X at 125 kg. Women’s freestyle 65 kg World Team Trials champion Jennifer Page, who also earned World bronze in 2023, adds to the tally of past World medalists now qualified for Newark.
Rounding out the list of World Team Trials champions and new Final X qualifiers in women’s freestyle are 2024 Senior World team member Areana Villaescusa at 55 kg, two-time U17 World champion Morgan Turner at 50 kg, three-time age-group World medalist Alexis Janiak at 59 kg and two-time age-group World Team member Elena Ivaldi at 53 kg.
What’s at stake at Final X?
Final X will determine the 2026 U.S. Senior World Team in two-of-three international disciplines — men’s freestyle and women’s freestyle. In total, 20 weight classes will be contested, 10 in each discipline. The top two U.S. athletes in each weight class will wrestle a best-of-three series at Final X to determine the U.S. representative for the 2026 Senior World Championships in Manama, Bahrain.
All 20 Final X matchups have been set. A complete list of the best-of-three series pairings can be found below.
