Best NYC high school wrestlers set to clash at Donald Douglas Memorial Championships

New York City student-athletes from public, catholic and independent schools will compete for the title of "best in the city."

Beat the Streets Wrestling is proud to announce the Donald Douglas Memorial Championships will be Saturday, Jan. 17 and Sunday, Jan. 18 at The Michael J. Petrides School on Staten Island.
This premier high school wrestling tournament brings together the city's top student-athletes from the Public Schools Athletic League, Catholic High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) and New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS) to compete for the title of "best in the city."
The tournament honors the legacy of Donald Douglas, a former BTS Board member and PSAL Executive Director. The event continues his vision of providing opportunities for NYC youth to showcase their talent on a city-wide stage.
The two-day tournament will start at 10 a.m. each day. Semifinal matches will open the action Sunday with championship finals to begin at approximately 1 p.m. Tournament brackets will be updated throughout the tournament on arena.flowrestling.org.
SCHEDULE
Day 1, Jan. 17 Session 1 - 10 a.m. (Round of 32)
Session 2 - Noon (Round of 16, Consolations - first round)
Session 3 - 2 p.m. (Consolations - second)
Session 4 - 3:15 p.m. (Quarterfinals, Consolations - third)
Day 2, Jan. 18
Session 4 - 10 a.m. (Semifinals, Consolations - fourth, semifinals)
Session 5 - Noon (Placement matches - 3rd, 5th, 7th)
Session 6 - 1 p.m. (Championship finals)
Since being founded in 2005, Beat the Streets New York has pioneered a movement that now includes 110-plus individual wrestling programs, a youth league and the first girls high school league.
