Beat the Streets' Lazare Chikhradze wins Greco-Roman title at 2025 Northeast Regional Championship

Four Beat the Streets student-athletes earn top six finishes at the tournament.

Beat the Streets student-athlete Lazare Chikhradze won the 215-pound weight class in the junior Greco-Roman division at the Phil Portuese Northeast Regional Championship.
Chikhradze scored three wins by decision (9-6, 10-4, 7-3) to secure the title.
Fellow BTS student-athletes Eric Ivry and Georgiy Arakelov also earned a top six finish in their respective weight classes in Greco-Roman.
Ivry opened the tournament with a fall in 1:47 then fell in the second round. He showcased determination by rebounding with four straight wins by fall (:25, 1:15, 2:39, 4:36) to secure fifth place. Arakelov, who is also part of the BTS Academy, dropped his first match by tech fall then went 2-2, with a tech fall of his own in 47 seconds and a 41-second fall, to take sixth place.
Andrew Roman went 2-2 in Greco-Roman, with a technical fall and fall, and a 13-7 loss to BTS teammate Bilali Assoumanou. Roman and Assoumanou are both part of the BTS Academy.
In girls junior freestyle, BTS Academy student-athlete Marielys Lugo Fernandez took runner-up honors. She had a 28-second fall and 10-0 tech fall in 56 seconds before dropping the title bout by fall. Lugo,
