Beat the Streets New York's Top of Podium camp set for July 11-13

The annual three-day youth wrestling camp will be at Seward Park Campus.

Beat the Streets New York will host its annual Top of the Podium youth wrestling camp from Monday, July 11 to Wednesday, July 13 at Seward Park Campus (350 Grand St.).


The indoor wrestling camp will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day for student-athletes from kindergarten through eighth grade. All experience levels are welcome to attend. In addition to wrestling sessions, the camp will also provide life skill teaching sessions each day.


BTSNY high school student-athletes and alumni will serve as camp counselors.

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE

9 A.M. - 10 A.M.: Breakfast and check-in

10 A.M. - 11:30 A.M.: Wrestling session I

11:30 A.M. - NOON: Lunch and games

Noon - 1 P.M.: Life Skills

1 P.M. - 2:30 P.M.: Wrestling session II

2:30 P.M. - 3 P.M.: Stretching and breakdown


Since being founded in 2005, Beat the Streets New York has pioneered a movement that now includes 150 individual wrestling programs, a youth league and the first girls high school league.


BTSNY works to develop the full human and athletic potential of the urban youth and strengthen the New York City wrestling culture. We aim to make a lifelong impact on student athletes through the lessons learned on the wrestling mat -- discipline, perseverance, self-reliance, humility and a strong work ethic.
