Beat the Streets New York Wrestling student-athletes win 10 titles at 2026 PSAL Girls Freestyle City Championships

Carolina Lockard earned the PSAL Cheryl Wong Most Outstanding Wrestler Award and her fourth consecutive New York City title.

2026 Public Schools Athletic League Girls Wrestling Freestyle City Championships

Ten Beat the Streets student-athletes captured Public Schools Athletic League Girls Freestyle City Championships on Saturday at Harry S. Truman High School in The Bronx.


Carolina Lockard led the way with a historic performance to claim her fourth consecutive city title. Lockard needed only 2 minutes and 38 seconds of action to claim the title with three falls of 35 seconds, 1:08 and 55 seconds. For her performance, Lockard earned the PSAL Cheryl Wong Most Outstanding Wrestler Award.


Leona Gao and Ariana Oliveri each secured their third city crown. In the only finals matchup featuring prior city champions, Gao earned a 13-2 technical fall in 3:45 against 2025 champion Madison Tavares. Oliveri raced out to an 8-0 lead before securing the fall in 1:48 for her title. Both Gao and Oliveri had two falls and two technical falls during the tournament.


Nicole Kremyanskiy achieved her spot at the top of the podium after taking second in 2024 and third in 2025. Kremyanskiy dominated with a 12-0 technical fall in 48 seconds and a 39-second fall before a fall in 1:12 in the title bout.


Juliette Villafane and Nicole Kremyanskiy achieved their spot at the top of the podium after coming so close before the previous two years. Villafane climbed the podium from third in 2024 to second in 2025 and first this year. Villafane had a 12-0 technical fall in 2:30 and three falls, including one in 1:46 in the finals. Kremyanskiy had a similar lead up with second in 2024 and third in 2025 before taking the top spot. Kremyanskiy opened wiht a 12-0 technical fall in 48 seconds then two falls of 39 seconds and 1:12 for the crown.


Alexa Nunez, Angelina Ramirez, Gabby Kiria, Kristen Baskin and Victoria Page all earned their first city title. Seven of the 10 BTSNY city champions are also active members of the BTS Academy, a life-changing program focused on preparing student-athletes for success on and off the wrestling mat.


Nine BTS student-athletes also took runner-up honors, including three BTS Academy program members.
