New York's boys team took sixth place in the national dual meet competition between Beat the Streets chapters.

Beat the Streets New York took third place in the girls division and sixth place in the boys division at the fifth annual Beat the Streets National Duals on Friday at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.
The Beat the Streets National Duals is a dual meet tournament competition between Beat the Streets chapters across the country with more than 300 student-athletes competing against their peers.
New York boys and girls team each advanced to the semifinals then fell to Chicago's A team.
The New York girls opened the tournament with a 56-19 win against Detroit then fell to eventual runner-up Chicago's A team, 52-25. The New York boys defeated Cleveland's B team, 59-11, and edged Los Angeles, 37-31 then fell 53-15 to Chicago's A team, which claimed its fifth consecutive boys team title. Los Angeles outlasted Chicago's A squad, 37-36, for the girls title.
In the consolation bracket, the New York girls raced by Philadelphia, 68-11, then took down Detroit again, 41-36, in the third-place dual. The New York boys dropped two duals, 45-25 to Baltimore and 49-13 to Philadelphia for sixth place.
