Beat the Streets New York names Debbie Linehan as Director of Development

The Beat the Streets New York Board of Directors and Executive Director Brendan Buckley are pleased to announce the hiring of Debbie Linehan.

"We are excited to welcome Debbie to the BTSNY staff," Buckley said. "Debbie has an excellent track record, finding fundraising success in the nonprofit industry with the Girl Scouts of the USA, HEART and Keep America Beautiful. We look forward to seeing Debbie use her fundraising experience to build resources for BTSNY to grow the number of NYC student-athletes it serves and widen the lifelong impact BTSNY makes through the sport of wrestling."

Linehan has nearly 10 years of fundraising experience in the nonprofit industry. Prior to her time in the nonprofit industry, she worked in marketing and project management. She is a Syracuse University graduate.

"I'm thrilled to join this growing team and look forward to serving the BTSNY mission by soliciting new strategic partnerships and diversifying revenue streams for the organization," Linehan said.

Since being founded in 2005, Beat the Streets New York has pioneered a movement that now includes 150 individual wrestling programs, a youth league and the first girls high school league.

BTSNY works to develop the full human and athletic potential of the urban youth and strengthen the NYC wrestling culture. We aim to make a lifelong impact on student-athletes through the lessons learned on the wrestling mat -- discipline, perseverance, self-reliance, humility and a strong work ethic.
