Four high school and two Junior League middle school student-athletes earned championships.

Six Beat the Streets New York Wrestling student-athletes claimed the top spot of the podium at the 2026 Jeff Blatnick New York State USA Wrestling Championships at LECOM Event Center in Elmira.

Mia Carmela Barro and Celine Elliott each captured both the freestyle and Greco-Roman state championships in their respective weight class in the 12U division. Barro and Elliott each are part of the BTS Junior League, New York City's only elementary and middle school wrestling program, offering boys and girls the opportunity to learn fundamentals and test their skills in competition. Barro had a fall and three technical falls across both styles, while Elliott earned two victories.

Four BTS high school student-athletes also claimed state titles: Leona Gao, Carolina Lockard, Angelina Ramirez and Bradley Munoz. In the Junior division, Gao and Lockard won girls freestyle titles, and Munoz grabbed a Greco-Roman crown. Ramirez scored a girls freestyle title in the under-16 division.

Lockard led the dominant showing with four falls, with three under two minutes of action. Gao had two technical falls and a fall in 1:09, and Ramirez pushed the pace with two technical falls in under 65 seconds. Munoz racked up three technical falls, outscoring his opponents 43-14.

Podium Placements

Eleven more BTS student-athletes earned a podium finish, with seven girls and four boys.

In the girls freestyle Junior division, Valeria De Los Santos and Sarah Shatsky each took second, while Dayalaris Espejo, Gabby Kiria, Monique Teal and Esteicy Mora Gil each claimed third. Lilly Do also grabbed third in the 16U division.

Ronin Barro, an older brother of Mia Carmela, took second in freestyle and third in Greco-Roman in the 14U division. Nathaniel Torres (16U freestyle) and Aldar Tugulchiev (Junior Greco-Roman) each claimed second, while Muhammadsharif Jumaev pulled in third (16U Greco-Roman).
