2021 Gotham City Girls Open Cancelled for Second Consecutive Year

The 2021 Gotham City Girls Open, set for spring of this year, has been cancelled.

This is the second consecutive year the tournament has been cancelled due to COVID-19, with 2020 slated to have been the 8th annual run and 2021 the 9th. In previous years, Gotham has drawn competitors from around the entire country and world.

"We’re saddened to be unable to host the 2021 Cliff Keen Gotham City Open," said BTS Director of Programming Emma Randall. "However, it is in the best interest of health and safety for all competitors, coaches, officials and spectators. Wrestling will return to New York City, and when it does, we can’t wait to have you all back for Gotham."

The tournament will not be rescheduled for this year.
