2 Beat the Streets Academy wrestlers win New York state titles in girls freestyle

Six Beat the Streets Academy wrestlers qualified for the USA Wrestling National Championships in July in Fargo, North Dakota.

Beat the Streets Academy wrestlers Alessandra Elliott and Rebecca Silber each won state titles in the girls freestyle junior division at the Jeff Blatnick New York State Olympic Style Wrestling Championships this past weekend.


Elliott scored two falls and a tech fall to claim the 138-pound title at the Pinnacle Athletic Campus in Victor, New York. Silber had a fall and tech fall to win the 220-pound title.


With their wins, Elliott and Silber each qualified for the 2022 USA Wrestling National Championships in July in Fargo, North Dakota. Elliott went 4-0 to win the 16U national title at 138 pounds in 2021.


Beautiful Robinson (127), Angelina Caban (164), Shamil Tavarez (180) and Shellby Luberisse (220) also punched their ticket to the junior nationals with top-three placements. Caban, Tavarez and Luberisse each placed second, while Robinson took third.


The 16U and junior national championships will be July 15-22 at the FargoDome in Fargo, North Dakota. The tournament will have competition in men's and women's freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling.
