Across four city championship tournaments, Carolina Lockard won all 14 matches by fall, including nine victories in under one minute.

Beat the Streets New York Wrestling student-athlete Carolina Lockard made history Saturday at Harry S. Truman High School, becoming the first wrestler to win four Public Schools Athletic League girls wrestling freestyle city champion.
The Brooklyn Tech senior needed only 2 minutes and 38 seconds of total mat time to claim her fourth title, recording three falls in 35 seconds, 1:08 and 55 seconds. Her dominant performance earned her the PSAL Cheryl Wong Most Outstanding Wrestler Award.
Lockard capped off one of the most dominant championship careers in PSAL girls wrestling history. Across four city championship tournaments, she won all 14 matches by fall, including nine victories in under one minute. She outscored opponents 109-4 during her championship career, allowing points only once in her freshmen year finals match.
Her success extends well beyond New York City competition to the state and national levels. Lockard is also a multiple-time New York State freestyle champion and has earned National High School Coaches Association (NHSCA) All-America honors twice with fifth- and third-place finishes the past two years.
Lockard attributes her success on the mat to her involvement with Beat the Streets, where she leads youth practices and is an active member in the Academy program. The BTS Academy is a life-changing program focused on preparing New York City middle and high school student-athletes for success on and off the wrestling mat with life skill workshops and mentorship along with wrestling clinics led by former and current Olympic, World and NCAA coaches and athletes.
Following graduation, Lockard will continue her academic and wrestling career at Lehigh University, home to one of the nation's top NCAA Division I women's wrestling programs.
