Beat the Streets student-athletes Davron Turgunboev, David Chen, Eric Ivry and Malik Ayesh each captured in individual titles at the Donald Douglas Memorial Championships on Sunday at Michael J. Petrides School on Staten Island.

The tournament features New York City's best high school wrestlers from the Public Schools Athletic League, Catholic High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) and New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS) competing for the title of "best in the city."

Turgunboev, the No. 3 seed at 103 pounds, dominated his bracket by outscoring his opponents 37-8 across four bonus-point victories, including two falls, a technical fall and a major decision. His performance earned him the PSAL Most Outstanding Wrestler Award as the section's top wrestler in the tournament.

Ivry, the No. 4 seed at 132 pounds, also turned in a standout performance, posting a 29-1 scoring margin with three falls. He punctuated his tournament run with a fall over No. 2 seed Albert Lula (Monsignor Farrell) in the championship bout.

Turgunboev and Ivry both attend James Madison High School in Brooklyn and are coached by BTS alumnus Steve Santimauro.

Seeded No. 5 at 118 pounds, Chen (Benjamin Cardozo) scored a fall then a 7-0 decision over top seed Nathan Jacoby (Collegiate) in the semifinals. Chen secured the title with a fall in the final against fellow BTS student-athlete Gideon Kaye (Brooklyn Tech).

At 215 pounds, the top-seeded Ayesh (New Dorp) advanced to the finals with a technical fall and two falls. In the title bout, he secured a fall against BTS Academy student-athlete and No. 2 seed Elijah Desir (Eagle Academy).

Fellow BTS student-athletes Tristan Levin (Tottenville), Ronny Guzman (Grand Street Campus), Cian Gaughan and Joshua Uben (both of Riverdale Kingsbridge Academy), Javier Mina-Lewis (Sunset Park) and Desir each finished as runners-up in their respective weight classes.

Overall, 41 BTS student-athletes earned top-eight finishes, including 19 participants from the BTS Academy program.

Monsignor Farrell (CHSAA) claimed its third straight team title, followed by James Madison (PSAL) and Poly Prep (NYSAIS). Farrell went 4-for-5 in the finals, with its lone loss to Ivry. James Madison went a perfect 2-for-2, while Poly Prep crowned three champions.
