Levin claimed third place for his second state medal, and Brito took seventh for his first state medal.

ALBANY, N.Y. -- Beat the Streets student-athletes Tristan Levin and Aiden Brito each earned podium finishes Saturday at the New York Public High School Athletic Association Individual Championship at MVP Arena.

Levin of Tottenville High School placed third at 126 pounds in Division 1, while Brito of Riverdale Kingsbridge Academy claimed seventh place at 190 pounds in Division 2 after falling one win short of a medal last year.

It is Levin's second career state medal following his eighth-place finish at 116 pounds in 2025. He is now the first student-athlete in Tottenville history to capture two state wrestling medals, and his third-place finish stands as the highest placement in school history.

Entering the tournament as the No. 11 seed, Levin scored upset victories over the Nos. 6 and 3 seeds to reach the semifinals. After dropping his semifinal bout to eventual state champion and Staten Island native Brennan Sprague of Monsignor Farrell, Levin rebounded in dominant fashion with a 13-5 major decision over the No. 5 seed before a fall against the No. 2 seed to secure third place.

Brito, the No. 8 seed in his bracket, opened with a fall before losing in the quarterfinals to the top seed. He responded with another fall in the consolation bracket to clinch his first state medal. After a 12-9 loss to the No. 5 seed, Brito capped his career with a fall to finish seventh.

Brito becomes the second student-athlete in Riverdale Kingsbridge Academy history to earn a state wrestling medal, joining 2013 170-pound state champion Adis Radoncic.

The podium finishes by Levin and Brito continue the success by Public Schools Athletic League and Beat the Streets student-athletes. It is the fifth consecutive year that multiple PSAL and BTS student-athletes have earned state medals.
