David Heidecorn named Beat the Streets New York's Board Chairman

Emilio Collins will serve as vice chairman and Dean Colucci will remain in his role as secretary.

Beat the Streets New York is proud to announce David Heidecorn and Emilio Collins as the new chairman and vice chairman of its Board of Directors.

Heidecorn and Collins fill the roles after four years of service from Ray Barzack and Jesse Jantzen, respectively. Dean Colucci will remain in his role as secretary.

"Since the moment Dave and Emilio joined our Board, they made their presence felt," BTSNY Executive Director Brendan Buckley said. "They know how to roll up their sleeves and do the work and have been incredibly supportive of our staff and all that we do. With Dean Colucci as secretary, the BTSNY Leadership team is rock solid and is poised for new levels of impact.

I also want to thank Ray and Jesse for their work during the past four years to set the stage for Dave and Emilio. The last few years were incredibly challenging and they both helped us remain relevant and impactful."

Heidecorn also welcomes two new Board members, Jamie Brodsky and Chris Placca.

BTSNY's active Board of Directors includes 16 individuals dedicated to supporting the organization's operations and programs, which provide opportunities - on and off the wrestling mat - for urban youth across New York City's five boroughs.

Since being founded in 2005, Beat the Streets New York has pioneered a movement that now includes 150 individual wrestling programs, a youth league and the first girls high school league.

BTSNY works to develop the full human and athletic potential of the urban youth and strengthen the NYC wrestling culture. We aim to make a lifelong impact on student-athletes through the lessons learned on the wrestling mat -- discipline, perseverance, self-reliance, humility and a strong work ethic.
