62 kg women’s freestyle series features Adaugo Nwachukwu vs. Macey Kilty at 2026 Final X, presented by Kerberos Capital Management

The series is tied 1-1 between two-time World medalist Macey Kilty and reigning World Team member Adaugo Nwachukwu.

Adaugo Nwachukwu and Macey Kilty will revisit their rivalry in a clash of styles in the women’s freestyle 62 kg matchup at 2026 Final X, presented by Kerberos Capital Management. The winner between Nwachukwu and Kilty will earn the spot on the 2026 U.S. World Team on June 19 at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Nwachukwu secured her spot at Final X by winning the 2026 U.S. Open Championships, where she rolled to three technical falls before edging Kilty, 10-8, in the finals. She outscored her opponents 41-8 in Las Vegas, piling up 28 of those points in the first period.

As the reigning Senior World Team member at 62 kg, Nwachukwu will defend her spot after taking seventh place at the Senior World Championships and an active year on the domestic and international circuits. She opened 2026 with a fifth-place finish at the Muhamet Malo Ranking Series in February, then captured titles at the USA Wrestling Women’s Nationals and U.S. Open in April, followed by a gold medal at the Senior Pan American Championships in May.

Kilty is a two-time Senior World medalist and has owned the 65 kg World Team spot for the past three years. She qualified for Final X by winning the Senior World Team Trials Challenge Tournament, cruising to a 13-0 technical fall over Hanna Errthum in the semifinals before pinning Claire DiCugno in the finals.

After moving to the 62 kg weight class at the beginning of the year, Kilty immediately picked up a pair of international medals: a bronze at the Zagreb Open Ranking Series and a gold at the Muhamet Malo Rankings Series. She then recorded three technical falls in preliminary competition at the U.S. Open before the finals loss to Nwachukwu.

The series between Nwachukwu and Kilty is even at 1-1. Kilty controlled a 6-2 decision at the 2024 Olympic Trials, while Nwachukwu evened the rivalry with her 10-8 win in April.

At Final X, fans can expect a true clash of tempos. Nwachukwu likes to press the action early, attacking from space, building big first-period leads. Kilty prefers a measured pace, maintaining solid positioning and scoring strategically to earn her wins.

What’s at stake at Final X?

Final X will determine the 2026 U.S. Senior World Team in two-of-three international disciplines — men’s freestyle and women’s freestyle. In total, 20 weight classes will be contested, 10 in each discipline. The top two U.S. athletes in each weight class will wrestle a best-of-three series at Final X to determine the U.S. representative for the 2026 Senior World Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan.

Nwachukwu enters with a 1-1 series record against two-time Olympian and two-time World silver medalist Kayla Miracle at Final X, including dropping two matches to none (6-1, 10-3) in 2023 then rebounding by taking two out of three (14-8 win, 4-3 loss, 8-4 win) in 2025.

Kilty will make her third Final X appearance, following series wins in 2023 and 2025. In her Final X debut against two-time World bronze medalist Mallory Velte, she had a second-period fall and 6-5 win. Last year, Kilty had a pair of 10-0 technical falls against Aine Drury.

Beat the Streets New York Annual Benefit

Final X will serve as the 2026 Beat the Streets New York Annual Benefit, its 16th to date. These unique electrifying events help BTSNY raise critical funds each year to support local youth wrestling programs, which empower young people in New York City. The BTSNY Annual Benefit after-party takes place at the conclusion of Final X.

Kilty and Nwachukwu have each made two appearances at Beath the Streets events at 2023 and 2025 Final X, with both events also held at Prudential Center.
